Access to a Health Care Professional

The Practice offers access to a Health Care Professional between the hours of 8.30am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday (This may vary during holiday and illness cover).  The duration of each Doctor’s appointment is approximately 15 minutes, but a longer consultation can be requested.  Our Practice and Advanced Nurse clinic appointment times vary.  You have the right to see the Doctor of your choice and this can be done by asking for them by name, but they may not always be available due to work commitments, holidays or increased patient demand.

We provide a Telephone Triage system Monday to Friday.  This means our staff will ask you to provide a brief description of your complaint.  We ask for this information so that the Doctors can prioritise the calls for urgency when carrying out the triage. Where appropriate the Doctor will organise a Face to Face appointment with either themselves or another member of the Practice Health Care Team for the same day where possible.  Emergencies will be seen in the Practice every day, but you will not always be seen by the Doctor of your choice.  We also offer a variety of health promotion clinics.

We also provide Extended Hours Surgeries: These surgeries are run between 8.00am and 9.00am daily.  There is also an Extended Hour surgery on a Tuesday morning which runs between 7.40am and 8.50am.  These surgeries are predominantly for patients who are unable to attend the surgery during normal working hours due to work commitments etc.

The Practice is involved in the training of new GPs and therefore you may be seen by Doctors in training.

Home visits

Home visits are arranged for patients to be seen at home who are too ill or infirm to be seen at the Practice. Home Visits are expensive in Doctors’ time, so attending for consultations at the Health Centre, where possible, is greatly appreciated.

The Home Visit rounds are planned before 10.30am and therefore an early request is appreciated. Home Visits can be requested by telephoning 01465713343 or by getting a representative to report to our Reception Desk in the Health Centre. It is most helpful if our staff can be given some idea of your symptoms. This information is required in order that the urgency of each call can be assessed by the Doctor. We do appreciate your help in this matter.
